Happy End of 2018 and Beginning of 2019!   
What's everyone's glorious New Year's Eve plans?
I just ordered a pizza and wings for delivery, I have a cheap bottle of Merlot, and I will be home cooking all night.  My husband leaves for work tomorrow and has a 6 day shift, which means I have to send him 6 days' worth of lunches and dinners. Usually he can have lunch at his station buuut they're still on holiday schedule so the cook won't be there to make lunch. So double the cooking haha.  

Our kids will go to bed on time because it's been a long day, and then my husband and I will probably drink our cheap wine and watch Netflix. Oh, and fold laundry. Can't forget that.  

I'm posting more and more to Instagram these days, mainly because DA is glitching so much for me and I'm finding that this community isn't very active. I do love browsing DA though because everyone here is so inspiring to me. I just need other platforms to really showcase my art though. So if anyone wants to follow me, my IG is "akg3".

It's been a wild month for me here in Florida. I'm quickly settling in to southern life though. The weather is amazing here; it's always the perfect amount of warm. Mornings are cool enough to wear sweatpants and sweatshirts, but then by mid-afternoon I'm stripping down to go to the beach. It's really blissful for me.  

I've managed to get a regular photography job for a fashion/beauty blogger. It feels like such an amazing opportunity. I just delivered her first batch of photos and she was really pleased with them. I believe we'll be shooting 3-4x per month, so lots of editing for me.

I've been shooting lots and editing lots, but I just haven't posted much here on DA. I'm not really sure this is the best platform to continue showcasing my work. I don't know exactly where else to go though. Instagram doesn't seem to have nearly as many features (like options to download/purchase/view high quality photos). And Facebook is just too overwhelming. But I feel like DA is has become much less active so it's more difficult to get exposure + feedback on my photos than it used to be. I'm just contemplating where I want to throw lots of effort. Plus, with other places becoming more interactive, I've found I can be more personal elsewhere when I'm posting photos (like Instagram). So, I'm still going to be around of course. But I'm just not sure how much I can continue to contribute to groups etc.

Okay I gotta go. It's almost Halloween and I have scary movies to watch!!  What's everyone doing for Halloween? Are you all watching some great scary movies?!

Hello lovely humans!  I hope the summer treated you all well. What's everyone been up to? I'd love to know how your summers went.  

I moved from the east coast to the south (Delaware to Florida). It was a 16.5 hour drive + 1050 mile trip. We brought our two kids, two dogs, and two cars. But our one car took a poo just 30 minutes away from the destination  So not too bad, if you ask me. I'm loving Florida so far! We're in the Panhandle, near Destin. This state has tons of state parks (well over 100 according to the state parks map I have!) and we want to visit as many possible before we get relocated again. We already visited our first one over Labor Day weekend and it was amazing; so beautiful and serene. I took photos which I'm in the process of editing now. I can't wait to make them into a blog post (I'll post a link of it here as soon as it's done).

Anyways, here's a few sneak peeks for you guys. I hope everyone is doing well in general. I haven't had time to post too much lately with all the craziness of my move, but I check deviations daily (i'll confess, I have 18,000 in my inbox currently but I'm working very hard to get caught up! And some of those are group notifications which I need to go through.) Anyways, lots of happiness to all.

Not sure if many of you still follow me on here, but I'm definitely around! I've been dealing with a lot and needed a break from DA. My husband has been gone for 9 weeks for work and will be gone for another 5 weeks still. So I've had my hands full with two littles and two dogs. I went to visit family for a couple weeks, thinking it would be a fun way to pass some time while my husband has been gone. But the trip turned sour pretty quickly when a family member assaulted me sexually. So I left my trip early and I'm home now trying to recover from that. I needed some time to just shut down and process everything. I don't want or need sympathy; I'm handling things on my own and my husband has been the most incredible support to me during this difficult time (and doing it long-distance, at that). But mentally I'm still pretty exhausted and there's been a lot of family drama that's accompanied my assault- unfortunately people have to pick sides. You can't just remain neutral when things like that happens. And we also just found out we are moving to Florida (the panhandle) next month (end of August). So now there's a lot of craziness accompanied with that; things are moving fast-paced and I am about to run around like a chicken with its head cut off (where did that phrase even come from anyways? So gross.)
But still, I wanted you guys to know why I've been absent and be reassured that I'm not going anywhere (besides, I have a ton of new stuff to upload!). And, most importantly, if you're ever assaulted in any way, you should tell somebody. Because it's never okay.
