Umbra. They call her Umbra, for it is the darkest part of a shadow. A shadow is dark enough itself, without adding the darkest part of it. She is confined within a glass dome, small enough to sit in the palm of ones hand. Distinguished by her large elf-like ears, naturally tattooed body, and unusually long eyelashes, Umbra is an exotic, one-of-a-kind creature. Unlike her name, her skin is more pale than a white dove, but with hair more black than a raven.
Placed in a jar, she always will be.
Away from the world, hidden is she.
No one who helps,
Nowhere to go,
Locked up tight forever, I daresay it is so.
A young creature she be,
Born with special enchantment.
A witch became jealous,
Wanting powers enhancement.
Capturing the innocent,
The witch hid her away,
From life, the world, and light of the day.
Day after day the little one cried.
After realizing no one could hear,
She did wipe her eyes.
There was nothing she could do,
It was beyond her powers.
The witch was so wicked,
Filling light with darkness in her towers.
To this day she's still captive,
And sits in the glass dome.
She sees nothing but umbra,
And hope is not known.
